Skiing for the First TIme - the Learner Skier

As promised, following on from last week’s blog “Snowboarding for the First Time” this weeks blog is all about skiing for the first time.

The beauty about skiing is that right from the get-go, you have poles in each hand to aid your balance. Sure you have these long slippery things attached to your feet, but before you know it they will just feel like they are a part of you! Learning something new is a great feat – and skiing is definitely that ‘thing’ to choose.

For first time skiers we always recommended that they take lessons. Ski instructors have worked for years to fine-tune the abs...

Travel is something I love to do, it’s exciting, it’s new and it’s unknown. I have been lucky enough, to have traveled the globe several times over. During these many miles I have picked up a few travel tips and I would like to share them with you.

Keep those important things with you

The snowman can be made with as little or as much snow as you choose and is completely a work of art. The snowman usually consists of two, or three, large snowballs stacked on top of each other. The one at the base is the largest, middle smaller and a smaller one at the very top, which is the head. Sticks...

Girl's Snowboarding History Made

Girls snowboarding history was made last week, when Elena Hight landed a double backside alley-oop rodeo at the X-Games Aspen. This was the first time a girl has landed a ‘double’ in snowboard halfpipe competition, and it was awesome!

I was lucky enough to be watching the women’s halfpipe final live on ESPN at injured kiwi snowboarder, Bex Sinclair’s house in Wanaka. It was great to be watching it with company who appreciated the performance. The snowboarding was hands down the best girls snowboard competition I have ever seen! Elena had a great run topped by landing her double trick, a...
