Dates and Timing

How far in advance do I need to book?

To guarantee a spot on the tour on the dates you want we suggest booking prior to April if possible. Accommodation options decrease considerably closer to winter, so in order to get your first choice of accommodation an early booking is recommended.

In particular the Australian and New Zealand school holidays can be very busy so if you are planning to travel at this time please make arrangements well in advance, especially if you are interested in staying in one of our holiday homes.

Provided we have spaces available on our tour we are happy to take bookings right up to the day. So if your boss suddenly gives you the week off, then New Zealand in the winter time is a better place than most to spend your time!

When do your tours start?

Our tours run through the best part of the New Zealand winter, which is July, August and September.

I can only take a few days off work, so I can't do a full week. Do you do shorter trips?

All our tours are tailor-made with you in mind.  We can arrange any style or length of snow tour you require, and aim to have as much snow time as possible.

Can I add extra days at the beginning or end of my trip?

If you are looking to spend a few extra days on snow then we can arrange this for you, just let us know how many nights accommodation you require and how many days on snow you want and we will send you some options.

If you are already on one of our tours and are having so much fun in New Zealand that you don't want to leave, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you for as long as you like.

What happens if the mountain is closed?

Our trips are very flexible which means that we can visit any mountain on any given day. It is almost unheard of that all of the mountains will be closed (especially on our Wanaka Adventure) so it is more likely than not that there should be an open ski slope somewhere that we can visit.

However, in the unlikely event that all of the ski areas nearby are closed due to weather, then that day will be used as our scheduled day off. If the scheduled days off have already been taken, then we will organise another activity to do in the area to the value of a lift ticket.

When are the New Zealand school holidays for 2013, and will that affect my holiday?

In 2013 the New Zealand winter public school holidays are July 13th - 28th. The Wanaka Adventure ski areas are busier during this 2 week period, however the Tekapo Adventure and the Craigieburn Adventure are not too affected by the school holidays. Just talk to us about your dates and how the school break might affect you.
