The Best Start to a New Zealand Ski Season Ever!
Warning: By continuing to read on, you're opening up your heart to potentially overwhelming snow envy... which may end up with you coming to New Zealand for a snowboard or ski holiday....
I know, that is a pretty dramatic warning and title for a blog - but it is nothing but true! Seriously, I can’t even remember one that has started with such a bang as this one has!

Twas the Night Before Opening
‘Twas the night before opening and all through the house,
Everyone was excited even the mouse.
The skis and boards were waxed by the owners with care,
In hopes that opening day would soon be there!. ...see you tomorrow Cardrona!!!

5 Ways to Keep Warm in Winter
#1 Find a Good Fire Place
Stand up close and personal with a good fire place. Or pull up a chair, as close as you can. Watch out for nylon stocking – we don’t want you to melt! And remember to rotate! Fireplaces are number one on my list, as nothing beats the radiant heat from a fire. Ah, they are just so good!
#2 Wear a Down Jacket (Aka Puffa Jacket)
Duck down, goose down it doesn’t matter, so long as it is down. Down is a super insulating feather, found on birds. They stuff lots of these feathers into a jacket and voila! – Now that will keep you tasty warm, no doubt about it!

The Ski Boot Fit Blog
Meet Kazu. Kazu is a ski boot guru. This guy knows his stuff inside out, and has enough experience to fill a million ski boots! (25 years to be exact!). He has been working at Outside Sports in Wanaka since before it was even called Outside Sports. And who even remembers that!? - so lets just call it forever! Kazu has gained his experience from working in Sapporo Japan and here in Wanaka. If you are in Wanaka and need ski boot help, he is your man!
