Southern Lakes

Our Southern Lakes ski areas are some of the most picturesque in the world. With long groomed runs, plenty of opportunity for exploring, and world class terrain parks, there is something here for everyone.

Stunning View from Wanaka BackpackaThere are six commercial ski areas in this region and they all feature large investments in grooming, snowmaking, high speed chairlifts, and freestyle facilities.

Beginners will find perfect terrain to learn their first turns on, while intermediates will find long, groomed runs on which to perfect their technique, and more demanding terrain and park features to challenge them. Advanced riders and skiers will discover exciting terrain, great hiking potential, and the best freestyle facilities in the Southern Hemisphere.
